That's the theme of Jay Chou's concert for Year 2005 in Malaysia. It was held at Stadium Merdeka on 29 January, 2005 to a relentless rowdy crowd.
Preparation
The days leading to the concert was full with anticipation. I can't believe I'm finally going to see him perform live here! Been prepping myself up by listening to his music for the whole week before his concert. Saturday came, day shining brightly, went to work in the morning, had lunch with Boon, came home to rest, had 40winks, woke up at 4pm, sky was dark and cloudy, it rained heavy drops (!), showered, got ready for the big event, hoping with hope it won't rain later, Boon came by at 5.15pm, me, mom and Boon left the house at 5.30pm, still raining, got stuck in KL traffic, reached the parking lot opposite Merdeka Stadium at 6.10pm, rain had already stopped, paid RM6 for the parking (total ripped-off!), took a bottle of water and umbrella, waded through the throngs of teen fans, waited in front of the Stadium, 6.30pm and still waiting, took some photos for remembrance with Boon and mom, had luk-luk for dinner, waited for Sai Wai to come, aiks, she's already inside the Stadium, our turn to get in too, got into the Stadium at 7.15pm, managed to bring in my digicam, met up with Sai Wai who's sitting at row 11, went back to row 19 to sit with mom and Boon, waited for the concert to start, people started to pour into the Stadium, waited for the concert to start, suddenly the crowd went wild, Jay's mom and maternal grandma walked into the Stadium, 8pm and the concert hasn't started yet (!), more people are walking into the Stadium, crowd cheering and shouting for Jay Chou, his band came on stage, 8.45pm Jay finally appeared!
The Concert
It was great! He sang so many songs and needless to say they were all my favourites. The opening act was a rap number. He played An Jing on a red grand piano. Later he teamed up with one of Nan Quan Ma Ma member to play the Flight of the Bumble Bee on the keyboards. He played the flute too. Sang Rasa Sayang and said Terima Kasih to the crowd. Oh man and all the time he was so cute! Took pictures of him finally gave the camera to Boon while I sang with the crowd! Landy Wen came to sing too. She sang only two numbers, thankfully too because I wanted to see more of Jay then anyone else. Jay sang mostly the new songs from his 5th album. Old hits like Long Juan Feng, Hei Se You Mo, Dong Feng Po, Kai Bu Liao Kou, Ba Wo Hui Lai Le, Xing Ching, Zui Hou de Zhan Yi, Hui Da Guo Qu were not forgotten. He also sang a Faye Wong song and he attempted to sing part of the song in Cantonese. Jay returned back to the stage after two encores. First encore he sang Qi Li Xiang, title track from his latest album. He came back on stage with Shuang Jie Gun while playing nun-chuks and ended the whole show with Yeh Yeh Pao de Cha. There were a lot of breaks in between, perhaps Jay needed time out to perform the concert. It finally ended at 11.10pm.
Ending
Sigh, it was really good. Met up with Sai Wai again after the concert to take pictures, walked to the car feeling sweaty, got stuck in the parking lot where everyone was trying to leave the place, got stuck again KL traffic, finally reached home at 1.10pm, changed, talked to Boon on the phone, slept feeling contented.
