Here are 5 book recommendations (in no particular order) that is guaranteed to creep you out and tingle your spine this Halloween season!
1. Coraline by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Dave McKean
2. Nocturnes by John Connolly
3. Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas - The Film, The Art, The Vision by Frank Thomson
4. Miffy the Ghost by Dick Bruna
5. Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
(It's not a scary book, but you sure will need some humour when the wolves come out of the walls!)

As I write this, a good friend is on his way to board a flight bound to Reading, UK for another dose of adventure!
I'm not sure where he gets all this boundless energy to do the things he did and is going to do. He must be a hyperactive kid, I suppose. Anyway, I wish him all the best as usual and hope he'll fly home sometime next year to attend 2008's most important event of the year!
He left me a parting gift which I think is one of the best gifts this year!
The Harry Potter stamp set was recently released in conjunction with the final book. It comes nicely packaged in a satchel design and each of the seven stamps features the Bloomsbury children book cover which I happen to be collecting. The unfolded satchel contains a brief about the author as well as the series. On a separate sheet of paper is another five stamps featuring the Hogwarts school logo as well as the four groups in the school. Neat huh? I bet it costs quite a bit and I'm not going to google to find out the price. I would like to appreciate this gift as something thoughtful from a friend who knows I'm an obsessive greedy little girl who loves all things beautiful.
Thank you, kor kor Alden. Whoever imagined a chance meeting during a trip could blossom into this. It's a magical world out there.
